Structure Of The Saint

Here is my Ch. Siegfried's Anjanette, who was my very first champion. She was sired by Ch. Hunk Von Mardonof,( Top Producing St. Bernard for Many years) and out of Swiss Import Lori Von Rigihang.

Ch. Angie was the most perfect built St. Bernard I had ever seen at that time, and of course the Best Moving St. Bernard most people had ever seen back then. Ch. Angie would never drop under at least Reserve Winners, whether there were 5 other females that day at the Show or 55 other females. And any time she would get Winners bitch,. and if her brother Ch. Prices Von Hunk, Ch. Chip took Winner Dog when they wereclass dog's, Ch. Angie would always beat her brother, for Best Of Winners. Now, Ch. Chip was a good mover too but nothing could compare with Ch. Angie's movement or Structure. Ch.Angie could have taught anyone about outstanding movement and structure, after owning a Saint like her I could never drop back to some average built or average moving Saint to show. She had excellent shoulders, topline and hindquarters, hocks and a beautifully angulated rear stifle, but also beautiful shoulder angulation and layback. And a topline that was perfectly straight. Ch. Angie also had another littermate who became champion which was Ch. Siegfried's Rita. Three champions from that one litter of 7 pup's. her littersister Ch. Rita is pictured on page 342 of  The St. Bernard Classic, by the Swiss Judge Specilist Mr. Albert del laRie. To learn about the structureof the St. Bernard study pictures like this one of a superior built St. Bernard.

Here is our Ch. Angie's litterbrother Ch. Prices Von Hunk, (Ch. Chip) who was # 8 in the Top Ten back in 1978-79.

Ch. Chip also was known for his outstanding movement and well developed shoulders. In recent years I produced a clone of Ch. Chip, and his name was Ch. Healy's Rollin And A Strollin, (Ch. Hambone)  Ch. Hambone was also known for his massive muscling in his shoulders.

Here is Ch. Hambone again, and you can see how much he resembles our old Ch. Chip.  Ch. Hambone was sired by Dixieland's Mr. Shake Rag Elvis,(ptd) who was sired by Netherlands Import, Siegfried's Dirk V. D. Sharomano, one of the last Imports Col. Wm Hagel ever Imported back in 1986. And Ch. Hambone's dam was Healy's Pandamonium Breakout, who was a Ch. Ironman V. Lofty daughter out of Dixieland's Time In A Bottle, who was also a litter sister to Mr. Shake Rag Elvis. Ch.Ironman was a grandson of Holland Import Ch. Harrie V. Majoshof, and out of German Import Ch. Xilla Vom Norfbach.

Here is Ch. Healy's Rollin And A Strollin (Ch. Hambone) as you can see he is a lot like my old Ch. Prices Von Hunk, (Ch.Chip) from many years ago. This is what you call maintaining this Breed, not changing the breed, as the correct Head and Over all Type had already been locked in many years ago. Notice the shoulder angulation and layback of Ch. Hambone and you will see that it is the same as Ch. Chip's, also there are many other things about these two dog's that are the same, even though they were produced about 20 yrs. apart. Again, Ch. Hambone was known for his outstanding movement and massive shoulders.

Thanks to all the different Judges who have appreciated our Healy Dog's!!!!!!!!!!

I want to thank all of the Judges who through out our 32 yrs. of showing St. Bernards have selected our dog's as the best at the shows they have won at. There are so many different judges who found our St. Bernards to be the best represented at those Dog Shows. One of my favorite Judges ever was Mr. Ed Bracey who also showed St. Bernards and is pictured in The St. Bernard Classic handling Saints. He was the first judge I ever put my Ch. Angie under and she took a Best of Breed that day and got her first major.Mr. Bracey later told us that Ch. Angie was the best moving St. Bernard he had ever seen, and that was a great compliment coming from him.

Here is our Ch. Healy's He Dropped A Bomb On Me, (Ch. Kaboom)  pictured at only about 18 months of age and still growing. Ch. Kaboom today is of course much larger and filled out as it usually takes our dog's until they are about 3-4 yrs. before they are finished developing, and mature. Ch. Kaboom is a beautiful Splash coat, and the picture of Balance.
